If you were to look up the definition of Motivation in the dictionary, it states: the reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way or the general desire or willingness of someone to do something. You should be excited about your work and if you aren’t then you need to take a step back and look at the big picture and remember the reason you set the goals you set. Need ideas on how to stay motivated? Take a look below at ways I keep myself motivated.
Here are ways to keep yourself motivated and on track to reach your dream goal:
Remember Your “Why”.
What was the reason you decided to create your goals? What is it that you want to accomplish? Is your goal reachable? Stop and take a moment to visualize how it would feel to be able to quit your 9-5 job and work your online business as your main source of income. Isn’t it a great feeling? I think so!
When you first start building your online business, it is important that you have a solid, workable plan. Sometimes it is hard to find the time in our busy lives to get everything done. Breaking things down into smaller, workable steps will not only get the work done, but help to keep you motivated and less overwhelmed.
Organize your office so that everything you need is right at your fingertips. Avoid clutter as clutter creates a stressful environment and believe it or not, makes us feel frustrated and less motivated. Remember to focus on the things you can control and not what you can’t. Our office is soon going to become our work from home sanctuary and we want to be excited to go in there every day.
Make To Do Lists.
To do lists are a wonderful thing and can also help you with organization. Make a list of tasks you need to get done during the week, then prioritize that list. Choose three tasks from your long to do list that need to be completed first. When those are completed, prioritize three more. Prioritizing your tasks in this manner, keeps you from becoming overwhelmed and its a great feeling to see tasks checked off on your list as completed.
We can be our own worst enemy when it comes to negativity. When motivation is lost and the big picture seems so far away, we tend to focus more on the negative thoughts going through our head than we do the positive. When this happens remember your “Why”. Keep this list handy and refer to the first reason above. This is so important to keep you on your patch to success and meeting your goals. There are many people who have started their own online business, so why can’t you! Keep this thought even if you have to write it down and stick it on your computer or desk to remind yourself.
It is such a great feeling when a success happens. Its motivating in itself and lights that fire under you to keep going. I can remember thinking that maybe this just wasn’t for me. Maybe it just wasn’t meant to be that I start my online business. Then it happened! I created my website and Google indexed my website. I was so excited! That gave me the motivation I needed to keep going and reminded me why I do what I do. Don’t give up! It is not a matter of if it will happen, its a matter of when. Remember that and you are already successful.
Creating a vision board that displays what you want and reminds you daily of why you are doing what you are doing, actually bring it to life. What we focus on expands and becomes exciting and therefore motivating. When you create a vision board and place it in your office where it is in your face daily, you become unstoppable. Success is yours! Visualization is one of the most powerful mind exercises you can do.
Your vision board should focus on how you want to feel, not just the things that you want. The more your vision board focuses on how you want to feel, the more it comes to life.
